When Erin and I first discussed starting Connect Outfitters last winter it was just a dream, with what I believe was a solid business plan, but none of it would be possible without a lot of support from friends, family and the outpouring of support we received from so many others. The inaugural dory season was a success and we want to thank all of you for making it possible.
The weather and ocean conditions cooperated for the most part and the salmon fishing was very good, providing great action on fly rods for both rockfish and salmon. I feel so fortunate to be able to share this unique fishery with so many others who haven’t had the opportunity to fish Pacific City from a dory, using light fly rods to target salmon, rockfish and the occasional tuna. If your looking for something unique to try next year please reach out and get some dates scheduled. We will begin fishing offshore next May.
Vision may be loaded up and tucked away for the winter, but we’re not done. If you would like to swing flies on the north coast for winter steelhead let us know. I will be running steelhead trips from January – April from either my drift boat or raft. All trips include a warm lunch and the necessary gear. These trips are a great way to see some sweet new water, dial in your winter gear while searching for some awesome winter steelhead fresh from the salt.
