Fast Start to the Dory Season – Salmon Season is Set!

It’s been a great start to the 2026 Dory season, with aggressive Rockfish and good numbers of Lingcod. We’ve recently had some challenging ocean conditions, but that will be improving as we start the push into the summer season. We should see the good Lingcod fishing continue into the middle of June before we switch over to Rockfish and Coho days. One thing to remember that’s new from ODFW for this year is the Ocean Endorsement, this is required for all offshore fishing in Oregon this year. The cost for the day is $4 and for the season it’s $9. You can read more about the new endorsement and make the purchase here.

Over the past few weeks the Oregon Offshore salmon season has been approved by all parties, with a start date of June 6th. You can view more about the season below or read all the details on the ODFW site here. The bottom line for the season is it’s forecast to be another solid year for us, with a healthy selective quota and the ability to retain Chinook throughout the summer. This will be followed by a huge quota for the non-selective fishery in September.

With a forecast like this and a great quota we’re very excited to get after the Coho this summer. If you would like to get out on the dory and experience this incredible fishery, we still have some availability. View our current calendar here, or just contact us. More details on how and what we use to target the Coho off the coast here is some additional information. Whatever you chose to target this summer we hope you enjoy the time on the water, Connecting with everything nature has to offer.
