Exciting Day on the Pacific with Flylords

Last fall I had the pleasure of having three guest, Patrick, Emily and Toby (and they’re pup, Stella) join me for a day on the dory. This was a trip that was over a year in the making. Patrick and I had originally planned the trip for September of ’21 but due to ocean conditions and busy schedules, we had to reschedule for September ’22.

The group has travelled the world, exploring and fishing for a large variety of things, but had never fly fished the Pacific from a Pacific City Dory. The plan was to target rockfish and potentially salmon and Lingcod. Patrick, who writes for Flylords documented the trip while Toby captured the experience from behind the lens.

The ocean was a little too sporty to find any salmon but the rockfish was lights out. I will let Patrick share more about the day from their, first time experience. It’s always great to get to share a day on the water with awesome people (and Pups) that are excited to take in a new experience. I look forward to the next time. If you are looking to get out on the dory this season there’s still time! I have some days left on the calendar and you can view them here.

The pictures that I’m sharing here are all from the talented Toby Nolan. You can view more of his work here.

Until next time…
